Teen Financial Literacy Contest
United Way Montcalm-Ionia Counties is excited to announce its 1st Teen Financial Literacy Video Contest. This contest connects community members and schools with numerous businesses. The goal of the Teen Financial Literacy Video Contest is to strengthen the knowledge teens and community members have regarding Financial Literacy. When students understand financial literacy, they have control over their money and budget for real life situations, and are better prepared to lead happier, healthier lives.

Teaching teens financial literacy before they graduate is essential to their success. This contest allows them to research a topic of their choice and decide how to creatively teach others through a 90 second video. The videos created will be shared throughout the community to teach others. All 6-12th graders in Tri-County, Montabella, Lakeview, Vestaburg, Carson City-Crystal, Greenville, Central Montcalm, Belding, Ionia, Portland, Lakewood, Saranac, and Pewamo-Westphalia school districts are invited to participate.

The top three submissions will be awarded scholarships:

1st place - $500
2nd place - $300
3rd place - $200Independent Bank, Mercantile Bank of Michigan, Portland Federal Credit Union, Isabella Bank
